Who we are

Campaign Action Makerfield is a volunteer-run hub for people supporting the local Labour campaign in the Makerfield area. We are the data controller for the information you submit to this site.

What we collect

• Account info from your sign-in provider (Google or Apple): name and email.
• Profile details you choose to add: display name, ward, postcode, availability, skills, bio, Labour membership status, and whether you're happy to be visible to other volunteers.
• Content you create: noticeboard posts, messages, event RSVPs and doorstep reports.

How we use it

• To coordinate volunteering — matching you to events, lift-shares and canvasses nearby.
• To let other signed-in volunteers see and contact you (only if you've ticked "Show my profile").
• Postcodes are only visible to organisers and admins.

Emails from Labour Community

The Makerfield Hub is built and run by Labour Community. When you sign up we'll occasionally email you about the hub and the wider work of Labour Community. We rely on legitimate interest (and the soft opt-in under PECR) to do this, since you've actively registered with us.

Every email contains a one-click unsubscribe link. You can also opt out at any time by ticking "I don't want to receive these updates" on the sign-up screen or your profile page. Once you opt out we stop sending and add your email to our suppression list.

Who else sees your data

Apart from the Labour Community opt-in above, we don't share your personal information outside the campaign. Data is stored securely with our hosting provider and visible only to signed-in volunteers, organisers and admins as described above.

Your rights

You can edit or delete most of your data yourself from the Profile page. To request a full export or deletion of your account, contact an organiser through the app.
